THE THREE THRONES
The show which held recently,23rd of October this year, was a show you don’t forget in a hurry. The theme was centred around ‘game of thrones’ (arguably the best series of this period). The 3 thrones represented top artistes like Davido, Tiwa savage and Phyno.
This is how it went down
The show started with upcoming acts, just to set the vibe right. Terry Apala took the stage to increase the energy with his hit single ‘champagne’, tjan followed suit with his own hot single ‘aduke’ he switched things up a bit with his latest track with Ycee,’aye o pe meji’…after that, Ycee owned the stage and lightened the atmosphere even more with his collection of hit songs.
Another thing we cant forget so quickly is when Timaya came on stage to crown Ycee “a new king”, he handed Ycee a staff of office of the three thrones (like some anointing in G.O.T) after which Timaya did the crowd justice with his major hits and even doing other songs like Rihanna’s ‘work’ and mashups with song-lines like ‘someone cannot play with you?’
So we know the event was themed after game of thrones, so I’m guessing that’s why there was a fat lady who stripped naked (although partly painted) who was escorted by an entourage who were ringing bells….I guess maybe to find their way in to the v.i.p section (that’s what I call a vip experience).
We also noticed another lady, this time, bra-less, go on stage to paint a board during Tiwa Savage’s performance and yes!…she was twerking with a lot of booty, with her half-masked face. What a delight to the crowd.
Oh, I forgot to mention how Toyin Aimakhu went on stage to ‘rub body’ on Davido and princess the comedian alongside Eniola Badmus both squeezed the O.B.O
Phyno’s performance was electric, though the crowd gave him a bit of a tough time at first, he still got the job done..
Some things we noticed…
About the idea of expenses;we noticed ads on major digital advertisement boards in Lagos, even in the 360 degree display board in lekki, tv stations like Mtvbase and trace.
We had a glimpse of the pre-party which was titled ‘cruise and chills’ which was a super boat cruise that had the ‘high and mighty’ in the industry on it.
Let’s just say….
The show was super-hot, no doubt, but I guess the timing was wrongly calculated, as a lot of the masses left for one music festival and there were other shows and events (maybe cheaper too) happening at the same time, as the regular ticket went for 10k. In times like this that we are facing economic challenges, not leaving the cost of transportation too.
I feel the pricing and timing made the show a little bit flat, I’m sure if the prices were down, even students would have turned up..
That’s just my view but What do you think? Drop a comment?
