TuFace Idibia, a popular Nigerian Artist and Peace promoter has in recent times indicated his intention to protest against the current economic crisis and bad governance among other issues affecting the state of the Country.
The One Voice Nigeria crooner has scheduled the protest for the 6th of February, 2017 during which President Buhari is expected to have resumed office from his vacation.
However, The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni has said that the planned protest organised by Tuface Idibia will not hold due to recent intelligence report of plans to hijack the process by criminals. –
The Commissioner had this to say at a recent interview;
“Information reaching us revealed that some hoodlums are planning to hijack the peaceful protest. An as such, we won’t allow it to hold in Lagos. We know that Tuface does not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand,”
The Commissioner also verified that as at the time of this interview, the organizers of the planned protest had not officially informed the Lagos State Police Force of their protest scheduled for the 6th day of February, 2017.
The Nigeria Police Force has always encouraged any and all civil society groups to notify then Force as well as all Security Agencies of planned public protest so as to safeguard such events and not allow hoodlums overtake the aim and perpetuate evil.
